Secure area and post signs

Place two wet-floor caution signs at both approaches to the spill and, if possible, use a temporary barrier to redirect foot traffic away from the area.

Contain and absorb spill

Cover the liquid with absorbent towels or pads and blot from the edges toward the center until no pooling remains, swapping out saturated towels as needed.

Clean with floor cleaner

Apply one recommended dose of neutral floor cleaner, scrub the area with the mop or a microfiber cloth in overlapping passes, and change bucket water if it becomes visibly dirty.

Rinse, dry, and restore area

Rinse the mop or cloth in clean water and remove remaining cleaner, dry the floor by mopping with a well-wrung cloth or using a squeegee, verify there is no slipperiness, and remove signs once the surface is dry.
