Tag newly acquired books with RFID stickers and verify they register at the library security gate. Run this when a new shipment arrives or before shelving new items.
A batch of newly acquired books has RFID stickers attached but the tags are not encoded or verified at the exit sensor.
Some tags may be unencoded, duplicated, misaligned on the spine, or have unreadable IDs; the security gate or nearby metal shelving can intermittently block reads.
Each book will have a correctly encoded RFID tag recorded in the catalog and will trigger the security sensor consistently when passed through the gate.

- 02 Prepare books and tagsVerify tag count against the shipment, place books on the work table, and attach each RFID sticker to the recommended spine or inside-back-cover location, removing liners as you go.⏱ 5분
- 03 Encode tags and update catalogFor each book: scan the item barcode, write the library ID/EPC to the RFID tag with the encoder, then confirm the same ID appears in the catalog record before moving to the next book.⏱ 10분
- 04 Validate reads at handheld and gatePass each book over the handheld reader and then through the security gate to confirm consistent detection; mark any item that fails either read for rework.⏱ 5분
- 05 Troubleshoot failures and finalizeFor failed reads, re-position or replace the tag and re-encode, retest until the book reads at both handheld and gate, then log replacements and note any persistent interference.⏱ 5분
