Dust lodges in narrow slat edges and between the headrail and first slat, making it easy to push dust onto the sill or floor while cleaning; cords may be tangled, routed through tight channels, or lack a mounting cleat so it’s unclear how to secure excess length.

    Prepare area and safety check
    Clear the window sill and floor within 1.5 m of the blind, position the step stool centered under the blind, and confirm the stool is stable before climbing.

    Vacuum loose dust
    With blinds closed, run the vacuum brush along the top edge and then along the closed slats from top to bottom on both sides to remove loose dust.

    Wipe each slat and rails
    Open slats flat and wipe each slat individually from center to edges with the microfiber cloth, then wipe the headrail and bottom rail to catch remaining dust.

    Inspect and secure cords, test operation
    Visually inspect cords and ladder tape for frays or damage, untangle and shorten loops, mount the cord cleat or use the shortener so no loop hangs below 1.5 m from the floor, then operate tilt and lift three times to confirm smooth function.
