Get Back on Track
A simple way to regain focus after getting distracted, overwhelmed, or pulled away from what you were doing.
Steps
- 01 Notice that you’re off trackPause long enough to recognize that you drifted, without judging yourself or explaining why it happened.
- 02 Stop what you’re doing nowEnd the current distraction cleanly instead of half-finishing or keeping it open in the background.
- 03 Remind yourself of the original taskLook back at what you meant to be working on so you don’t restart from memory or assumption.
- 04 Choose a clear re-entry pointPick one obvious place to continue instead of rethinking the whole task.
- 05 Remove one source of distractionClose, silence, or move away from a single thing that is most likely to pull you off again.
- 06 Resume gentlyStart again without trying to compensate for lost time or pushing harder than necessary.
