Guide Mode
Let the app walk you through your task, one field at a time.
What is Guide Mode?
Fecit has many fields — title, description, target, expectation, obstacle, retrospect, and more. Guide Mode walks you through them one at a time, with a conversational prompt at the top of the screen.
Instead of staring at a blank form, you follow a guided flow. The app highlights the current field and dims everything else, so you can focus on one thing at a time.
How to start
Open any task record and tap the Fecit icon in the top bar. Guide Mode will begin from the first field and move forward as you complete each step.
On mobile, it's the icon centered in the top bar. On desktop, it's in the center of the detail panel header.
Two modes
Guide Mode adapts to your task's state:
- Plan mode — for tasks that are Registered or Started. Guides you through: Title → Description → Target → Expectation → Obstacle.
- Retrospect mode — for Completed tasks. Guides you through: Title → Description → Satisfaction → Retrospect.
What happens during the guide
- A guide bar appears at the top showing the current step and a prompt.
- The current field is highlighted and the rest of the screen is dimmed.
- Hidden sections (like Intention or Retrospect) are automatically opened when needed.
- On mobile, the keyboard dismisses and the next field is focused automatically.
- You can go back, skip ahead, or close the guide at any time.
When to use it
- You're new to Fecit and want to learn what each field is for.
- You have a complex goal and want to think through it systematically.
- You want to reflect on a completed task without missing any aspect.
