Target

Some audio tour devices show low battery indicators or fail to power on, spare battery packs are mixed in a bin, and the charging log lacks entries for recent swaps.

Obstacle

Devices and spare batteries are scattered across storage and exhibits, battery pack IDs are unlabeled or mixed, and the previous charging log entries are incomplete or stored separately.

Expectation

All devices either have fresh battery packs installed or are placed on chargers, removed batteries are sorted and labeled, and the charging log contains a timestamped entry with device ID, action taken, battery pack ID, and your initials.

Steps

Gather and inventory devices

Collect all audio devices from storage and exhibit areas and list each device ID on the checklist.

Test power and label status

Power on each device, note battery percentage or LED status, and mark each device as 'Replace', 'Charge', or 'OK' on the checklist.

Swap batteries or place on charger

For 'Replace' devices, remove depleted pack and install a fully charged spare; for 'Charge' devices, place on the charging dock and confirm a charging indicator.

Update the charging log

For each device serviced, record device ID, action taken (swapped/placed on charge), battery pack ID or slot, date/time, and your initials in the digital or paper log.

Organize spares and return devices

Label spare battery packs with charge date, place depleted packs in the 'to-charge' bin, and return freshly charged devices to their storage or exhibit locations.
