Purse, Wallet, and Receipt Purge

Clear out unnecessary items and organize receipts so your purse and wallet are slimmer and easier to use; do this when pockets feel bulky or you can't find cards quickly.

⏱ 20 min★ Easy
Target

Purse and wallet contain loose receipts, mixed cards, scattered coins, and random paper clutter across pockets and compartments.

Obstacle

Deciding which receipts to keep versus toss interrupts the flow, and the small pockets make it fiddly to sort and replace cards and receipts quickly.

Expectation

Purse and wallet contain only current cards, necessary cash, a coin pouch, and a single organized packet or scanned set of kept receipts; trash and unneeded papers are removed.

Steps
  1. 01
    Empty and categorize contents
Remove everything from purse and wallet onto a flat surface and sort items into five piles: receipts, cards, cash, coins, and potential trash.
    ⏱ 5 min
  2. 02
    Purge trash and recyclables
Pick up obvious trash (wrappers, expired coupons, junk receipts) and drop it in a trash bag; place recyclable paper in the recycle pile.
