A single session log with timestamps, species names or descriptions, counts, observed behaviors, and at least one photo or audio clip saved to your phone or cloud.

Set observation station
Choose a sheltered, quiet spot with a clear view of feeders or trees, set binoculars within reach, open your notebook or app, and note the session start time.

Observe and record sightings
Watch for 20 minutes, logging each species seen or heard with timestamp, count, and a one-line behavior note (feeding, perched, flying); take photos or short audio clips for any uncertain IDs.

Summarize and store the log
Review entries, add scientific or common names if known, remove duplicate poor-quality media, tag date and location, and save or upload the log and media to your chosen folder or app.
