What's inside
Focused 30-minute session to strengthen letterforms and pressure control when practicing the full calligraphy alphabet, ideal when letters feel inconsistent or slow. Use this when you have a spare half hour and want measurable improvement on specific letters.
Lowercase and uppercase letters are inconsistent: strokes wobble, pressure is uneven, spacing varies, and several letters feel uncertain.
I lose control of pressure on downstrokes, make shaky upstrokes, and rush transitions, which creates irregular letter shapes and spacing.
After the session, stroke pressure and slant will feel more stable, spacing will be more consistent, and both lowercase and uppercase alphabets will be noticeably more uniform.

- 01Warm-up basic strokesSpend 5 minutes repeating basic strokes: 3 columns of 10 controlled thin upstrokes and 3 columns of 10 controlled thick downstrokes, then 2 rows of ovals to loosen the hand.⏱ 5 min
- 02Pressure control drillsDo 5 minutes of pressure drills: draw 6 columns of graduated hairline-to-thick strokes, aiming for smooth transitions and consistent stroke width within each column.⏱ 5 min
- 03Lowercase alphabet runsWrite the full lowercase alphabet 4 times slowly, focusing on matching a single exemplar for slant, x-height, and spacing; mark three letters that look weakest.⏱ 7 min
- 04Uppercase alphabet runsWrite the full uppercase alphabet 3 times, concentrating on entrance/exit strokes, consistent proportions, and keeping spacing even between letters.⏱ 7 min
- 05Targeted error correctionPick the 3 weakest letters from practice and write each 10 times with a guiding grid, then write one short line that uses all letters to check overall consistency.⏱ 7 min
