Plan a Baby Shower

by MASTER
A baby shower is a warm, low-stress way to celebrate a coming arrival with friends and family. Start planning about six weeks before the due date so invitations go out in time and gifts can be arranged.

Plan a Baby Shower

Start with the guest list and date

Pick a date with the guest of honor's input, then lock in a rough headcount. The headcount drives every other decision: venue size, food quantity, and how many chairs you need. Send invitations two to three weeks ahead, asking guests to RSVP.

Keep the games and food simple

Choose one or two games at most and a menu of finger foods that can sit out safely for two hours. Prepare as much as possible the day before so the morning of the party is only assembly. Save your energy for the guest of honor, who will likely be tired.

Check the details before guests arrive

Walk through the space 30 minutes early and confirm seating, food placement, and where gifts will go. A quick check tells you whether the day is on track.

⏱ 1h★ Medium
Target
A baby shower date, guest list, and venue are still unset, and the guest of honor has no plan for the day.
Obstacle
Invitations go out only a week before the party, so many guests cannot attend and the food is ordered for a much larger group than actually shows up.
Expectation
The date is confirmed, invitations are out, and the guest of honor is looking forward to a relaxed afternoon surrounded by people she loves.
Response Rules
  • When the guest of honor says she is too tired for games
    →
Skip the games and move straight to gift opening or conversation.
