Delete obvious junk and blurry photos
Open the gallery, sort by date, review photos for 10 minutes and delete screenshots, duplicates, and clearly blurry shots using multi-select so you remove entire batches quickly.

Run duplicate finder and remove extras
Use the phone's built-in duplicate tool or a trusted app to identify matching images, select the lower-quality copies, and delete them, confirming the app shows the expected number removed.

Tag favorites and move keepers into albums
Scan remaining photos, tap heart/favorite on the best shots, then create or add selected photos to named albums (e.g., 'Family', 'Receipts', 'Pets') until core events are organized.

Start and verify cloud backup
Connect to Wi‑Fi and charger if needed, start the cloud backup, wait until the backup progress shows completion for new items or the app timestamp updates to now, and note any failed uploads.

Permanently free storage and confirm space
Open storage settings or gallery's Recently Deleted, permanently remove deleted items and temporary caches, then check the available storage increased or the deleted items count is zero.
